OUR STORY

Creating a new kind of family care

Healthcare is outdated, and our families are paying the price. Gaps in care around pregnancy and starting a family are more apparent than ever. Maternal mortality rates are rising. Couples are coping with infertility on their own. Voids in postpartum, return-to-work, and specialized pediatric support are leaving parents behind. That’s where Maven comes in.

Founded in 2014 by Kate Ryder, Maven is the most comprehensive platform of its kind, providing critical support across fertility, pregnancy, adoption, parenting, and pediatrics. Since our launch, we’ve helped millions of women and families navigate their health by putting them at the center of care—where they belong.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Maven, we believe that healthcare is a fundamental human right and must lead on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our philosophy of care is grounded in meeting members where they are, recognizing that systems of inequality based on race, gender, class, geography, sexual orientation and other elements of identity and lived experience intersect and overlap in ways that can make quality care less accessible and less trustworthy. In everything we do, we aspire to create an environment where our members, providers, and employees can live authentically and without judgment.
Maven is a women’s and family health company, terms we use intentionally to center women, who have been historically underserved by status-quo healthcare, while also affirming and serving the family health needs of non-binary people and men, who make up 40% of our family-building and parenting membership. We support all people regardless of their positions in society, and within each of our digital programs — fertility, adoption, surrogacy, pregnancy, postpartum, parenting, and menopause — individual identities are respected and affirmed. We believe the work of inclusion is ongoing, and we are committed to learning, growing, and evolving with our community.
