How much does Maven cost, and how does it work with my health insurance?
Amazon is providing you unlimited access to Maven virtual care at zero cost to you or your spouse/partner. You can enjoy same-day virtual appointments with Maven providers, with no coverage or out-of-pocket costs to worry about.
If you’re undergoing fertility treatment or have family building expenses, Amazon offers financial coverage through Maven Wallet. When using Maven Wallet, medical and pharmacy expenses for eligible fertility services will be subject to the same cost share (ex: deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance) as your Amazon Premera, Cigna, or Aetna health plan. Members enrolled in an Amazon Kaiser Permanente health plan will have copays on eligible fertility medical and pharmacy services. You’ll connect your preferred payment method for your cost share (such as a bank account, debit or credit card) to your Maven Wallet to access your digital Maven ID card.
What languages does Maven provide services in?
The Maven app and website are available in English, Spanish, French, and Canadian French. Providers on Maven speak more than 35 different languages, including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, French, German, Japanese, and Hebrew. Maven offers an additional 170 languages available through a real-time translator service similar to what you might experience in a hospital or clinic if you didn’t speak the same language as the providers. Your Care Advocate can help you find the right providers for your needs.
What if I already have an in-person provider?
That’s great! You can use Maven’s virtual specialists for guidance and second opinions from top-rated providers that are available 24/7 (even at 2am!). Our virtual providers include specialists you might not have access to—from Fertility Awareness Educators and Reproductive Endocrinologists, to Wellness Coaches and Doulas.
Maven also partners with hundreds of high quality clinics across the U.S. to offer Maven members discounted rates, preferred appointment scheduling, and excellent patient care. Members are required to use a clinic in Maven’s network to qualify for financial coverage through Amazon benefits, unless you’ve received an approved exception to use an out-of-network provider. By downloading the Maven app, you’ll be able to see a list of in-network providers. If you need to request an exception, reach out to the Maven Care Team.
What can a Maven Care Advocate do for me?
Maven Care Advocates hold a registered nurse license, master’s degree in social work or other allied health background. Your Maven Care Advocate is available 24/7 to answer questions, recommend the best providers for your needs, and find in-person providers in your area.
You also have access to the Maven Benefits Services team that’s here to help you navigate your family-building benefits, financial coverage, and reimbursement questions. To contact Maven Benefits Services, reach out to benefits@mavenclinic.com.
Does Maven provide services for employees who identify as LGBTQIA+?
Yes, Maven supports people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We can answer LGBTQIA+ health questions and offer personalized recommendations for providers and care options that match your preferences.
Fertility benefits through Maven support all sexual orientations or relationship statuses. If you’re single or in a same-sex relationship, we are here to support you. Your benefits through Maven do not require an infertility diagnosis to get started.
Is there a limit to how many virtual care appointments I can have?
No. You can book unlimited virtual appointments with the Maven network of virtual specialists.
What kind of financial coverage can I expect to receive for fertility treatment or services?
The level of financial coverage you receive is similar across all Amazon health plans, but may look a little different depending on the plan you enrolled in. Employees enrolled in an Amazon Premera medical plan will have access to 1 Maven cycle per member, with 12 credits to cover your care. Employees enrolled in an Amazon Aetna, Cigna, or Kaiser medical plan will have access to a $25,000 lifetime cap per member to cover your care. These coverage models are comparable to each other and will not impact your care.
If your spouse/partner is also enrolled in an Amazon health plan, they can also access 1 full cycle or $25,000 lifetime cap separate from yours. Maven’s Member Benefit Services team can help you understand how to navigate your benefits through Maven.
What should I expect if I’ve been using Progyny for fertility support?
If you or your spouse/partner has used Progyny benefits between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024, you can continue using Progyny into 2025 for fertility services authorized by April 30, 2025, and completed by June 30, 2025. If you filed claims with Progyny prior to 2024, you will transition to Maven coverage on January 1, 2025. Any remaining benefit you have with Progyny will transfer over to Maven. For questions, please reach out to your Progyny Patient Care Advocate at 1-855-369-3343.
Is my personal health data secure?
Maven implements industry-leading encryption and data security practices to secure your personal health data. Additionally, Maven does not record video sessions, so any information you share with a Maven practitioner during your appointment will stay between you and that practitioner, unless you provide consent for them to share with another provider.
