Who is eligible for Maven?
Maven Maternity and Infant Care is available to employees, their spouse or domestic partner and child dependents 18 years or older, who are pregnant, have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, or have delivered a baby in the past 12 months and are enrolled in an eligible medical plan. Maven is also available to support parents of an eligible person (e.g., spouse or domestic partner of pregnant person, adoptive parents or parents through surrogacy, etc.).
Eligible Optum Select medical plans include the Optum Select Copay Plan, Optum Select HSA Plan and Optum Select Surest Plan.
Who is considered the “sponsored individual” during enrollment?
The primary policy holder of the eligible medical plan is the “sponsored individual”.
What if I already have an in-person OB-GYN or pediatrician?
You can continue to see your chosen providers. Maven provides additional support as our providers include a range of specialists you might not have access to - from midwives and doulas to diabetes coaches and career coaches - and they’re also available via message or video call 24/7. Your Care Advocate can also help you find in-person, in-network providers if needed.
How does Maven support partners?
Partners can sign up with their own account and benefit from the same provider appointments, articles, videos and virtual classes. Those enrolled in maternity programs also receive content that’s specific to the partner experience.
What kind of postpartum support does Maven offer?
You can access unlimited coaching and education from Maven providers including:
- Lactation consultants for questions around baby feeding
- OB-GYNs and doulas to help you navigate the recovery process
- Career coaches for return-to-work support
- Infant sleep coaches to help get your baby on a schedule
- Pediatricians to answer your middle-of-the-night questions
- Nutritionists for both you and your baby
- Mental health providers to help with your emotional wellbeing
Plus, Maven gives you access to a library of expert-vetted content and provider classes, and your Maven Care Advocate is available to help guide you through every step of your postpartum journey.
What happens at the end of my program?
Prior to your program ending, you will receive communications from Maven alerting you that your program is nearing completion. Contact Benefit Advocates at 1-844-222-6320 with any questions or learn more about additional well-being resources at unitedwellbeing.uhg.com.
How much does Maven cost, and how does it work with my health insurance?
You don’t need to worry about out-of-pocket costs because Maven is provided at no cost to you as part of your health plan.
What types of specialists can I connect with through Maven?
You can video chat and message anytime with specialists who can assist with pregnancy, postpartum and return-to-work, and infant loss. These include 35+ types of specialists, such as OB/GYNs, midwives, doulas, mental health coaches, nutritionists, physical therapists, pediatricians, lactation consultants, sleep coaches, parenting experts, career coaches, and more.
How can Maven help me if I've experienced a pregnancy loss?
Maven's network of providers and Care Advocates are available 24/7 to support you through your loss experience. You can meet with mental health providers, wellness coaches, OB-GYNs, and more anytime day or night. Plus, Maven offers drop-in groups and community support to connect with other parents who have experienced a loss as well.
Do Maven’s providers speak languages other than English?
Maven has options to connect with providers that speak over 35 different languages, including Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, French, German, Hebrew and many others. In addition, Maven offers simultaneous translation similar to what you might experience in a hospital or clinic if you didn’t speak the same language as the provider. Your Care Advocate can help you navigate to the best providers to fit your needs.
